An unusual variant of the infamous scroll helmet.

When informed that he had a fake and supplied with this link (http://www.pickelhauben.net/articles/Scroll_helmets.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false the seller replied,

You can lead the horse to water, but you can't make him drink. Interestingly, this is a private listing - bidders' identities protected.

It used to be you could warn off other bidders, but ebay got rid of that option. Too bad. Oh well, educations can be expensive. I saw that helmet too, looked at it for a moment, then went elsewhere.

It is the same seller who had posted that questionable M15, gray painted GR109 helmet.

He just posted another load of junk... Except maybe for the Prussian Felt Haube which is the only one that seems OK apart from the missing liner and the extra holes...

Yep...more antique junk. This Saxon helmet even has the same type of spike as the bogus scroll helmet:
