Hi guys,

Can you see what's wrong with this helmet? I took a second look and thought my eyes playing tricks.

Well I'm not sure what that Wappen plate is and I can't make out what is printed on the reserve cross, but the most glaring issue is that the Wappen is backwards. The scepter and orb are reversed and the eagle is facing the wrong direction.
Reversed negative perhaps?

According the describtion it is the „III Bataillon der 7 Thüringer Infanterie Regiment Nr. 96“

So it's a gilded line eagle for Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt.
Very rare and unusual helmet.
