I am new to this forum and this is my first post. Greetings to you all.
I recently discovered that my great grandfather served as a Artillery Private (Kanonier) with the 9th Schleswig-Holstein Foot Artillery Regiment (Schleswig-Holsteinisches Fußartillerie-Regiment Nr. 9 or FuAR 9) from 14/08/1914 to the end of the war (1918).
I am not at all familiar with WW1 German military history, units or uniforms but would like to purchase a good quality and period correct reproduction pickelhaube of the type my great grandfather would most likely have worn.
What vendors would you recommend and what kind of details do I need to be aware of for this particular unit?
If anyone is able to assist me with this I would greatly appreciate it.

PS - If anyone is interested in the history of this regiment, I did find a digital copy online of 1. Regimentsappell mit Wiedersehensfeier des Ehem. Schleswig-Holsteinischen Fußartillerie-Regiments Nr. 9 und seiner Kriegsformation in der befreiten Garnison Ehrenbreitstein. Unfortunately it is written only in German but appears to have a brief history of this regiment. There is a link where you can download a copy.
