Companeros,
Has anyone seen/own the following new book: "Imperial German Field Uniforms and Equipment 1907-1918, Volume 1" by Johan Somers? What are your reecomondations? Im thinking about purchasing it, but I want some input.

thanks
F Gonzalez

HI,

It has not yet shipped from Amazon. Much cheaper there than the publisher. Some printers in China where the printing took place are trying to sell bootleg copies. Be Careful of shipping times. Amazon should have these two volumes out in a week.

PS. Joe, can you help me? I think you know all sites of books, I'm searching the book wrote by my grand great uncle, the name is "Als Sänger Flieger Im Welt Krieg" by Niels Sörnsen (his artist names), Carl Holler - Verlag - Hamburg.

Hi Guys, I had a link to Johan's web site, but it does not work at this time, he had a fairly large exerpt form the prepublishing text, I thought his work look good. I may e-mail him to see if he might be coming to SOS to promote his book. He is the collector from whom I bought the bulk of my Belgian collection, and seems a nice chap.
Best wishes
Gus

I have the Vol here on Equipment that I borrowed from my friend Peter. I am ordering one. Very good.

I wanted to see it first to avoid the unfortunate disaster of Randy Trawnik's book due to the printing.

Hello All

the link to the website of the book should be operational. Have a look at :

I hope you will enjoy it,

I Have the book in hand, and I agree with Tony, I think it is a very good book!

Also, Tony is being modest and failed to mention, that he is mentioned in the book as a contibuter!! Way to go.

Many thanks for the nice comments.

Also, the website contains some additional info and corrections for Vol 1 and Vol2 which you might find usefull

Hey Tony,
Don't worry, the secret plans for the US to invade Canada were published in our local paper, maybe the problem will correct itself. I have my copies on the way.
Best wishes
Gus

As for my opinion... the book is a very good piece of reference. I bought it on a militaria show last weekend. Preordered the second one immediatly ... can't wait...

So the advice.... Don't hesitate on this one...
