My latest purchase is a real attic find it's a pretty rare Seitengewehr M1911 with the original very rare leather carrier the SG 1911 was specially made for the imperial German navy and was used by Enlisted men's and NCO's of torpedodivision , minenabteilung and later in the war also used by seefliegerabteilung and U-bootabteilung.
The SG 1911 has a blade that is almost similar to the SG 98/05(Butcher knife) but the blade of the SG 1911 is a bit longer it has a 17 inch blade with a overall length of 22,5 inches the manufacturer is Simson & Co. Suhl this was the only maker of the SG 1911 , on the back of the blade , hilt and on the scabbard are marine (M with a marine crown) Abnahmestempels/proofmarks.
In total there are only 10.642 Seitengewehrs M1911 made during the period of 1912-1918 enjoy the pics.
