Shako on E Bay,in France. Advice please.

I have come across this Shako on e bay situated in France :D , ' Shako de Chasseur Prussien mle 1915 Item number: 290123356740 ' i am sorry i am unable to paste the # :( , i would appriciate comments as i dont know enough about these helmets :o , is it me or does the Shako seem to be in excellent condition i.e. leather seems new? :-? (no crazing) the 'field abzeichen' seems to be too big? :???:

Hi Steve:

The Tschako looks textbook to me. The Feldzeichen's exaggerated proportions are the result of the photographer using a wide angle lens (look at the chair on which the Tschako is resting for further evidence of "fisheye" perspective).

Additionally, I wrote the following some time ago when a Tschako was being questioned on eBay.

i have just read your attached thread, great m15 Shako, thanks for the info it will prove invaluable, ive also learnt a great deal from the article, i took it that all late Shakos MUST have a ventilator, so it came as a surprise to read that some private purchase helmets didnt have them, handy, because i am watching a Shako that meets all the requirments except no ventilation grmmets!.

Excellent markings on the JR11. I do not remember seeing any of these before on an M15 shako. I wonder if it would be improper to capture the pics for our markings thread?? Brian

I think that Mark is JB 11. I always try to ask for permission to use their picture and list their credit in the contributor list. My success rate is less than 100 % and in this case my French is pretty poor. So anyone else who can try... :? :?
