There you go Bob. Different opinions on the same object. Sharing and collecting ultimately each of us has to make a call. Sometimes you're right sometimes you're wrong but the more you know the better it is! By the way I like the maker's Mark. :-P
Joe, this has been an interesting opinion poll, a larger sample would be better. I'm kinda on the fence myself, but leaning towards "thumbs up".

I meant it isn't an M1915 wartime issue :)

How's the voting so far? :)

Dunno, I haven't voted yet. All I know is that the hundreds of millions of dollars spent on campaigning, annoying phone calls and mailing me crap is completely wasted. I don't need any of that to help me make up my mind. On the other hand, it is fun to verify facts and find out who the biggest liars are.

Absolutely authentic IMO and the stamps should be added to the database.

Hoho, we will also have our "turn" in Germany, September 2013... :^o
However no matter for me, as a french citizen living in Germany...I do not have the right to vote....only the "right" to pay the german taxes.... :pottytrain2: :puke:

Es lebe das Europa der Bürger!!! :sleepy3:

Voted. \:D/
I vote in a former one room school house in the country, so it's a chance to see some neighbors etc.

Say our friends in Germany seemed surprised that we 'went someplace to vote'.... do they do it differently over there? I forgot to ask.

I have a shako cover with almost identical makings to the same Flieger Battalion, and the same date. I made clear photos but I have no idea how to post them here. Before I post them elsewhere I thought it would add to this discussion nicely. I can email them to anyone who can post them. Sorry for being such a Luddite.

I'm with Roy ... We'd all be a little nuts if some mark or stamping looked "too good" ... And I haven't read any convincing response that suggests it is bogus. To explain myself a little better ... If a 100+ year old hat had no wear, crazing, fading, then I would be the first to note that "new looks New". I honestly think it is a really superb condition topper. If someone turns up a "Made in china" stamp Ill be the first to apologise.

Fury out
