I am sure there will be more any help appreciated.

Top Carte de viste is Königin Elisabeth Garde-Grenadier-Regt. Nr.3 Charlottenburg) Garde-Korps.

Bottom group photo are Kgl. Sächs. Telegraphen-Bataillon Nr.7 (Dresden) XII Armee Korps. A dream Tschako to own.

I notice something very peculiar in the photo of the G.Gr. Nr.3 figure. Check out the Litzen on the cuff: there does not appear to be a panel (Patten?), i.e., the Litzen appear to be sewn directly on the cuff. Especially noticeable in the case of the second (middle) Litzen.

It's hard to see, but there is a panel/patten there, I can make out the very top edge and part of the side.

I was not aware that I had this. One of the benefits of my new scanning project is that I discovered this. After Tony made the identification of the black-and-white photograph– presto!

I cannot see the shoulder strap so I am looking at the cypher--- similar to JR 116 however, wrong crown and these guys are not from Hesse. Any ideas?

Joe,

Way to tell 18, 19 or 20 when the photo was taken in Leipzig?

I think most likely Husaren-Regiment Nr. 19. Although based at Grimma and not Leipzig, it was a component of the Leipzig based 2. Kavallerie-Brigade Nr. 24. In any case I this photo predates the formation of Husaren-Regiment Nr. 20 (which only wore a field grey Attila).

Glenn

The Saxon Hussar's plume is strange. Saxon Hussars supposedly
wore their plumes upright from their inception in 1875 unlike their Prussian counterparts who had drooping plumes until April 1903.

Interesting. They appear to be wearing Dunkelblau Waffenrock with straps for Königs-Infanterie-Regt. (6. Lothringisches) Nr.145 (Metz) XVI Armee Korps but that Regt was awarded a Grenadier pattern swept-wing eagle Wappen in 1913. And this was taken in 1917. So perhaps, "here are some helmets. Be lucky you got one"?

Along the same lines as JR 145 here is another one–same brigade wrong helmet.

Tony I would like to thank you again for encouraging me to do 600 dpi. Boy were you right! I think I will be doing this the rest of my natural life but you are able to see things. It has also been a crash course on identification. Thanks!

Not enough of your Württemberer's strap is visible. Pick one of THESE regiments I guess. 119 to 125.

Your Tschako guy is easy, Telegraphen-Bataillon Nr.1 (Berlin) Garde-Korps. BUT, he "should" be wearing a Garde star on that Tschako which makes it interesting.
