Well James (Jamie, yer proper Scotts name, no... the french one).....one does not generally intrude oneself, into a meeting between gentlemen of shared Scottish Heritage. McFarland can wear his tartan kilt on this occaision and I can wear my McKay tartan, thanks to me muther but I'm no... thinkin, that a Lebrasseur would have title to a kilt or a tartan. Not meanin, that Scottsmen, were not fond of the French lassies in Quebec, during those times and even today. So, ya might have a drop or two of the true Scott's Blood in yea, but it's up to Steve not me. I know Mcfarland's Scott's blood is more diluted than mine cause I am the son of a WW2 Scottish war bride direct fro Edinburgh, but I'm making an exception here because he does have a nice collection and I wul'd like to have a wee luk at it plus, he does have the official McFarland surname. It's a sign o' the times lad, one has to accept these things when one gets older......many of those Southern boys originated in the Heelands O' Scotland and that's why, they were so pissed off at the Yankees during that dust up they had in 1861-65. A big apart of it was the old Brits, Scott's Irish, Welsh game all over again.
As usual,....the Scotts at least in the original Southern colonies backed the wrong side but the northern Scotts up in Canada had more sense cause of the cold up here...we freeze our asses off every winter so, there was no affection for the South and it's "culture", really because it would not work up here. So, we had more in common with Buffalo than Baltimore. Geography and climate shape all human attitudes and economy, a lesson to be learned by all generations......harsh climate makes you hard. Enough....it is what it is, at this moment but change is always possible, if people unite and fight for their rights.....however, I am glad to be Canadian, God help all democracies in our world.
