Small Kokarden

Ok guy's this is a new one for me.

Inside the liner of the new M15 Garde helmet I just got was this small Kokarden. It was stuck inside behind the sweatband.

Anyway, fits over a M95 side post, but is quite a bit smaller then a regular size Kokarden.

Measures in at 35mm.

I have shown it next to a standard OR Kokarden.

I do not think it is a Kinder Kokarden as it is very detailed and looks nothing like the ones I have on any of my Kinder helmets.

What are your thoughts? Old Shako Kokarden?

James

This small cockade resembles that mounted on the saxon shako (108th). But of coure the prussian colours eliminate this possibility...

As Bruno mentioned, the small Kokarde was worn by Sachsen Schützen regt. 108 and Jäger Btlns 12, 13, 15, and from 1897 to 1903, by the two Sachsen Train Btlns.

But Preußen Tschako never wore a small Kokarde? Bizarre. :tard:

Re-reading Larcade I found that even 1895 models of the prussian Tschako wore initially small cockades like this one before the common cockade was adopted. However it should have had the empire colors. Hence the mystery remains unsolved. But at least I learned something...
