Have any of you guys been to Snyder's Treasures website? Check the German helmet section, the pickelhaubes are towards the bottom of the list. Look at the officers haubes and let me know what you think. :o

He's peddling several replica officer helmets there--and asking even more than similar fakes sell for on eBay.

Havent checked the link but from what I've seen of his stuff on ebay he's always insanely expensive and it's usually really mediocre. I find it difficult to believe that he ever finds a buyer for his wares?

Actually, I just looked and I wouldn't touch any of it with the proverbial. :confused1:

Boy does that bring back memories! The owner is a real piece of work -- a Max certified dealer named Charlie Snyder. Years ago we used to go to the show in Pittsburgh he would have a new Adolf Hitler watercolor for sale every year. Incredibly high prices. If you actually got into a conversation with the guy -- not highly recommended -- he had more stories about some of the questionable stuff he had than you would believe. He would spin his yarns to potential customers. I am not sure but I thought I heard he had been banned from several East Coast shows. As with any dealer ultimately the decision is yours. I would urge caution -- great caution. With the prices he charges he must have some satisfied customers just not for me.

Yea I remember this guy from the MAX years ago. He had all kinds of stuff on tables but the prices were huge. I used to go to his web site (not for years) but again what he wanted for each piece was rediculous. I am also very surprised that he still is in business. Brian

Phhheeew weeee! I had to put on an oxygen mask when I looked at those prices they were so high! I paid $20 for a concussion cracked M42 German helmet two years ago... I didn't know they increased in value ten times!

Yeah, lots of original fakes there, especially in the Pickelhauben area. Does he have a co-dealer in England... ? :-?
