Hi Gents,
This one crossed my way for a few weeks, something pretty classic, nothing extraordinary, but in good condition with no moth holes and in good shape. I could not resist to purchase it, because of the elegant tall form, obviously a very late dunkelblau manufacture, so about 1910.
Unfortunately no regiment or BA marks, only a Compagnie mark: 4C.
The inside is a kind of wax paper with an interesting filigree wappen relief. This is not a maker relief. This relief looks absolutely like the wappen of the 5. Thüring. IR94, with laurel leafs on the left and oak leafs on the right.
Now I´m not sure of the eventuality, this cap could have been worn in this unit. Look at the state cockade...First though this is a prussian one, but at the second look, it could even be the Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach colors, from the outside: darkgreen-yellow-black??
Hard to say, because of the color fading after almost 100 years...The white color of the Reich cockade is also now almost yellow...What are you thinking about it Guys?
Philippe
