Prussian Inf Officer helmet named to Leutnant Junemann 2nd Komp. JR 161 needs a bit of work and the spike did come with it. Any information on this Leutnant would be much appreciated. Jr117 shoulder strap to go with my 117 wappen, M15 Garde Tschako wappen and a rare M15 JzP wappen. There are 3 other items which I will post tomorrow.

A project helmet from the Show, an M95 Arty helme, I removed the kugel for transport purposes. It has some
problems but is well marked and hopefully I can complete it.

Markings: FsAR 1897,23 1903,5B,IV

That are nice catches you got on sos
I think you won't complain about sos this year if you go home with al that stuff🤣

Congratulations, a beautiful condition. I would want it back if I were Leutnant Jünemann  :D

My thanks for the kind comments. So what I thought to be an "F" is actually a "J " excellent. Again, I hope we can get some information on this Leutnant and his war service. It is so cool when our helmet is named which helps track down who owned the helmet 100+ years ago. I do not have any Range lists so will rely upon other members who do.

Brian, yesterday I got a Rangliste, dated 6 october 1913,but it is for staff only (stabsoffiziere).
I enclose some pictures of what it says about IR160, Leutnant Jünemann is not mentioned however, but that does not mean he was not in it off course.

He could well have been in another position in the regiment .
Let's wait what other members, with more Rangliste have to say about him.
Great helmet by the way, =D>

Greetz, Coert :)

There was a Friedrich Jünemann in IR 160. He was born on 27th of october 1893 in Uthleben and possibly taken prisoner (missed)

Here the complete Sheet of the „Verlustliste“. Sorry for the new post but I have problems to post pics with my ipad...
Unfortunately I don‘t know if he was a Leutnant. My „Rangliste“-Books are from 1904 and from 1913, like Coerts. And in these Books is no Lt. Jünemann/Juenemann or Fünemann, sorry.

Maybe this Website is not knowing by everybode..It‘s a online collection of many prussian „Rangliste“-Books:

In the book of 1900 was a match for the name „Jünemann“ on page 732. Unfortunately no further informations about the regiment or else. But if anybody have a book of this year it could be helpfull. The IR160 was setted up in 1897 and 1903 or 1913 there was no Name which could match.

Many thanks to you both for your efforts guys, much appreciated. At least we know there was a Junemann in the Regt., perhaps more information will surface.

The last of my SOS treasure:

View attachment 2 The shako is marked J8 and was bought from Chas.
I added original wappen and repro fedzeichen. An original kokarde and repro strap will also be put on.
One of my other quests, a reservist cross for a Garde officer wappen I have.
The silver one on the right was bought at the Show for twice what it is worth. The brass one came from
Germany. I will not be buying any more crosses, the silver does not fit my wappen and I am no longer
certain it even had a cross.

Great looking Tschako, :thumb up:

I like them a lot, since I bought mine a week or so ago.
You obviously had a great time at the show!
But you'll have to do some remedial work on that arty M95, it will be fine,
looking at previous restoration work by you.

Have a nice evening,

Greetings, Coert :)

This Friedrich JÜNEMANN was not officer. If yes, it is always mentioned in the Verlust-Listen. This guy was EM and in the MGK/JR160:

Lightly wounded at the beginning of 1917:

Then missed at the end of summer 1918:

And mentioned as not being missed anymore, but taken prisoner in a late 1919 publication:

Thanks for the additional Informations, as I wrote I was not sure if a missing Officer-Rank in the „Verlustlisten“ always means it was an EM.
But I found only 1 record in the „Verlustlisten „, could you please explain how do you found the other records and what does the abbreviation „MGK“ stands for?
Thank you for the advices, I‘ll keep on learning about investigations from you :bravo:
