Had the best show I have ever had selling, sold 20 of my 24 helmets I brought!

I also bought 3 helmets for the collection and a couple great wappen.

Left to right:
1) Bavarian Militia in silver with plume.
2) Hessian 117 officer to reserve with plume, a new top line helmet for collection.
3) Bavarian OR M1873 Tschapka with plume.

Also, found a nice Hessian and Meck. wappen.

Great seeing tons of people and many forum members!

James

Great finds James! I saw many video's on You-tube about the SOS, also some views of your table, although most was WW2 there, there were many nice items I saw passing by in those video's. AoK had a nice table too.
I sure have to come and visit the SOS...been wanting that for years, but alway's something came up to prohibit that.
But those day's are over now fortunately. 🙂

Regards, Coert.

Great find James, congratulations. I love the beautifully preserved, frosted fire-gilded Lion Wappen, but the czapka is also fantastic.
Well done 🤩

Beautiful!!!
Too bad the S.O.S. is on another continent.
But I know a few French collectors - dealers, who make the trip every year... not for leisure, but for the job.

James, It was a pleasure meeting you, Phil and Brian. As one of the new caretakers of one of your 20 sold helmets, I have to say Thank you very much! The Raupenhelm will be a great addition to my collection. I’m looking forward to the next find! Nick

Jams:

Sounds like you had a great show all around. That 117th is a stunning item. A star in any collection.

I would love to attend, but my wife loves spending our winters in Portugal so we all know how that discussion plays out.

Nothing wrong with Portugal! My wife and I just visited there last May. Lisboa, Sintra, Belem, Estoril, Coimbra, Pinhão, and Porto. Wonderful time in a beautiful country with amazing food and wine!

I didn’t get to see the wappen or the other helmets, but James showed me the Hessian Officer’s Pickelhaube and it looks even better in person. The fire gilding looks truly fantastic, it is hard to believe it is over a century old.
Best regards
John
