SOS Load In

that is what it sounds like, going to be interesting, also sounds like our parking lot is going to be full of RV's, so parking will be tough as well..

I don't think the parking lot will be full of RVs.

Rather, the Louisville Boat, RV & Sportshow runs from Wednesday through Sunday. I believe it is in the three South Wing halls, A, B, and C. The RVs and boats will be inside, but the show generally attracts 28,000 to 30,000 people over the five days, meaning the parking lots could fill up quickly. The vendors probably park in Lot E1/E2, and that might be where their trucks are housed during the show.

The circus is on Friday with a morning and evening show, and Saturday with a morning, afternoon, and evening show! It is in the Broadbent Arena, which seats 6,580.

India Fest is Saturday, but I couldn't find which hall it is in. I'm going to "guess" and say it would be in the West Hall.

Parking is $15 a day for those without tables. I don't know whether OVMS has arranged for dealers to get into the parking lot on Wednesday if they are charging. According to the Expo Center website, there are options for in- and out-parking, but I'm not sure if they cost more.

Standing in the cold to pick up packets? I hope not.

The packet pickup is going to be inside the back load in area. I have no idea if they'll let us stand in line indoors in that area or not. So yes, hopefully we won't be standing in line outdoors for 3 1/2 hours, like what I did indoors last year in the hallway.

I'm wondering as well, Peter, as it's likely there will be parking charged to get into the area, since that huge sports show will be going on Wednesday.

When the S.O.S. has traditionally been held during February, there hasn't been anything else going on when we get our packets on Wednesday, and there has thus been no one taking admission for parking on Wednesday.

It seems at this point that there are a number of unknown factors we will be contending with and may not realize until we are actually present there on the 28th.

There is a long access hallway along the outside wall, used to store tables, chairs, etc. I know because I used it during the 2021 SOS to beat the crowds on Thursday/Friday. IN THEORY, dealers could be allowed to line up in that narrow hallway, which I wouldn't describe as pleasant to say the least, but I wouldn't bet on it happening.

At the Baltimore Antique Arms Show, held in March, dealers have to line up outside to pick up their table packets. That wasn't fun when it was raining or cold.

Right now the forecast is 26 degrees for the high on Wednesday. Dress warmly would be my advice.
