This is the second of a three fim series "Our Heroes On The Somme 1916-17"
The action takes place in the Saint-Pierrie-Vaast Forest near Peronne.
All types of Shells, gas shells, hand grenades exploding. Pioneers cross a small river with a ladder like construction under fire, as the film goes on so the forest shows the shell damage. Curious as to why half a dozn GW98s are leaning against a tree??

This final film is a narrow gauge railway from the rear areas to the front line, its a tour of the old battlefields graves of the fallen where they fell, old dugouts, lots of engines
