This is not a period squadron patch, but I am sure you all will get a kick out of it anyway.

The 4th Pursuit Group started forming up on October 25, 1918 at Toul, France. It was assigned to the then new 2nd Army Air Service which had been formed on October 12, also at Toul. The first squadron of the Group was the 141st Aero Squadron which had started operating two days earlier on October 23rd, 1918. The 141st was established in 1917 as the 141st Aero Provisional Squadron at Rockwell Field, California.

The 141st Aero Squadron went out on patrols for the protection of observation aircraft. During this time it ended up getting engaged in 13 combats, shooting down two German aircraft at no loss for itself. So these two kills for zero losses were the full extent of the victories and losses for the 4th Pursuit Group by November 11th, 1918.

Commander of the 141st Aero was Captain Hobart "Hobie" A.H. Baker, Princeton Class of '14, and a player on the Princeton University "Tigers" Hockey team. The official unit insignia was an orange fuselage band or wing stripe with two narrow black border stripes. The unit device was a princeton Tiger playing cat's paws with an empty picklehaube (pre 1915) and Iron cross medal.

This squadron still exists today as the 141st Air Refueling Squadron, and this is their squadron patch:
