I saw one small item that I bid on
A shooting award for the best shot of Hessian I R 116 Kaiser Wilhelm
for the year 1899. I wanted it for my Kaiser Prize collection
The starting bid was 40 Euro
so I placed a "so called high safe bid " of 255 Euro
i thought that I would win with some to spare
Wrong! The Hammer price was 260 Euro
add auction commission and Exchange rate of U S Dollars to buy Euro
ends up at about $375.00 U S Dollars
Stauffer auction people told me they will NOT ship to the USA now
I did have a collector friend in Europe who they could ship to
Then on to me from him
That would have added shipping X 2
add another $50 ? now $425.00
It just didn't happen
I will say this for Stauffer, their full results sheet was posted
on the next day , Sunday Oct 19
