A big part of my interess in collection goes to the steins and other "reservists souvenirs", so if you have question about this kind of item, feel free to write me; if I can I'll help you with great pleasure!!!

Thanks for the offer! I suppose my first question concerns how to tell originals from reproductions (aside from those repros with "Made in Germany" stamped on the bottom).

This previous topic may be helpful.

Hello,

today the biggest problem about the steins are not the replikas, but 2 differents thinks:

- not the correct lid on the correct stein!!!!! When economy crashed dosm in the 20', people sold their lids for a few mark! When economy goes better under third reich they miss their lids on the family steins, so they put the first lid he found on their stein!

- some "artist" put some red cross or other insignia on a simple infanterie or artillery stein, so the price goes from "1" to "2" or ""3"................

The link you provided to Harald Busse's website is also helpful with details about reproduction steins.

Thank You.
