Strange Cap Interior

Any thoughts on whether this cap is pre-1919? I have never seen a sweat shield like this.

Is that leather?! Very odd - I've not seen the like. My gut would say post-1919, but hard to say for sure. Definitely an unusual interior.

I agree with Jeff, and my gut says the same thing, but I've never seen a triangle manufactures tag exactly like this one.

Maybe that part was added later as a repair by the cap company who maybe replaced the liner

That is an interesting liner to be sure and just as unique.

The cap is post 1919 as the celluloid was not used in military caps during WW1.
