STRANGE LOOKING BAYERN PICKELHAUBE

I was thinking it might be police, but I'm not very well up on the police helmets other than the Berlin & Prussian. Thanks.

The cockade indicates a later use in the 1930's. The cockade is often the only difference between pre- and post-war helmets. A new plate was designed after the war but hardly used, partially for financial reasons but also because the old plate was preferred for its tradition and style.

I've also seen them with the crowns sliced off... not made without the crown, but cut like a Spartacist helmet.
