I would say perhaps train or field artillery with the oddest looking 'thing' on top I've ever seen... Lampshade is right! Now, if you had a matching spike or Kugel... :-"

C'mon guys... you can do better than this!
It's an M1895 private purchase for Unteroffizier (NCO) of the Feld Latrine Inspections Abteilung (FLIA). The helmet has the special luxus parade emblem screwed on. This was only used when Parade latrines had to be inspected!
You can also easily see that it's FLIA because of the rounded chinscales. The Latrine Inspections Abteilung zu Fuss (LIAzF) had flat chinscales.
The FLIA and LIAzF were not alowed to wear parade Haarbush at any times for obvious reasons. That's why they had their distiguished metal parade thingie...

This is correct! I will add that these usually came next to the pharmacist staff, recognizable to the suppository emblem adorning their Pickelhaube:

Well, shows you what I know! I had identified this one as the KKA Krieges Kunstler Abteilung, 'War Artists Department'. Because of the representation of the paint brush and a stylized ferrule under it. Like I said, learning more about these obscure units every day!

I hope you realize we were all joking about what this helmet would be... so we created some imaginary companies as FLIA, LIAzF, KKA, Bicycle Officer etc. The "spike" is probably just a piece of furniture. It might be best to change that description...

yes if you have a spike or kugel you can do that btw its not a officiers helmet but a fähnrich or private purchase helmet.
 
You can see that it is a private purchase because of the colors on the inside.
I am looking now for a artillery kugel.
Has somebody an idea where i can buy one outside of ebay.

Well, I didn't post any 'spam', but it was on my office computer (before work hours of course :wink: ) So, I wonder what that was about? I was welcoming a new person (2 posts) to the forum… and quoted their post. dunno. I see the post isn't there any more as well. Confusing. "Spam removed" removed. :)
