Student societies

For those who are not on my mailing list or anybody who may be interested, I have had a blast the last couple days learning about student societies. There is an article up on the Web now.

Great article! The student fraternities are still active today to some extent (3% of all students), allthough most are now non-"schlagend" (no fencing) and often non-"farbentragend" (no uniform).

In my opinion, you should read the new additions. And in out from an old Fox Major and several others shed some new light.

Some small changes and fixes in draft two, and a absolutely killer picture from Mike Huxley.

Joe, I'm sorry for the slow reply to your update. Many thanks for including the photo I have. But most of all, I've got to thank you for such an informative article. I've seen many photos of the scared faces of German personnel and until now never realised how this came about.

Keep up the good work.

Regards, Mike

I got some photographs that are little bit postwar but really complement the student Society article at:

If you're interested it might be worth a look.
