Postcards are getting expensive... :-x

Nice clear photo, you can see the cartouches in the butt stock!

Who paid $127.50 for a pc? Was it a banjo player?

I just was reading a forum where a couple of the members were lamenting the days when photos were going for $3.00 a piece.

Hey George,
I believe that it was Joe who pushed the post card price over $125, but that was many years ago, I tried to buy a post card at the world's largest ball of twine, but Joe had priced post cards out of my reach.

 No comment about inadvertently helping to push the price of that one up Joe. I thought my nemesis "ak1wk" might have his eye on it.

Great pic, I was wondering when you were going to share it with us. Either way, you've saved me the trouble of starting a new post about that Wachstuchmütze Überzug (?):

What's a man to do? The dastardly Australians are attacking the prices! I don't know how it is for you but we cannot see who we are bidding against. I would love to find a way to get around that -- I think Robert and I have pushed prices up against each other in the past.

Now for the important stuff. What a super picture! Now I would have put the price of that up! If only it was R16. even Jack Sheldon has been unable to find a copy of that regimental history. The real question is are we talking about covers?? I'm not always so sure. this one yes but I just am not sure all of the time.

The fall of your man's cap Joe resembles that of a 'crusher' style cap, rather than a cover, the two other pictures look like Überzug are being worn. Here's another couple for scrutiny ...

P.S. I have a gentlemen's agreement, if there is such a thing this day and age :) with George, if I see he's bidding on something I will avoid having a dip at it. This doesn't always work out as I'm obliged to use Bid-Napper as most auctions close when I'm in the sack.

Hey Brett,
Isn't that the same thumb print I see on you other cards in the lower right corner?
Best

Despite being a cop for 17 years now Gus, I can't tell if it's the same print or not :D - maybe that's why I haven't caught a burglar in a while :-k

I get quite a few fingerprints on these old cards, the photographer's weren't as fussy about such things in those days. Other things on their minds perhaps.

Hey Brett,
I used to do a lot of dark room work, and to be honest, I rarely developed a print that I did not leave my own print upon.
