"Tall and Short" (soldiers)

Interesting photo. The seller was too nice calling the 'big' guy "tall"... in my book that's One Tubby, Tubby!
Some, like Joe, might remember in the US Army, they referred to these guys as "under tall" rather than "Fat!"... the theory being that their weight was okay, they just weren't all enough for it! I don't know if that was official, or just something the 'men' came up with.

So that's the little guy who wore my size 53 cm Prussian M95 haube ! Believe it or not, I am now working on a Prussian Garde officer helme of the same size. How this guy got to be a Garde officer with a head that small is beyond me.

Must've been some member of nobility to pull that one off. Maybe they weren't as picky about officer height as enlisted? Either way, he probably had some rather rude jokes made about him behind his back, unless he was very competent and respected by his men for something other than rank.
