The best of the year.

Here is my last purchase of 2024. The uniform jacket with epaulettes of a colonel general from the Infantry Regiment 95. I already had the helmet for it.
hello, when I see this in the background, as a beginner I still have to save a lot of work, haha, I recognize those dolls, I used to be a WWII collector with also 38 dolls in clothes, unfortunately now I have a lot of regret,

It was a very good year collecting-wise, and hard to nail down a "best." My favorite pickelhaube was a long-sought III.B/IR96 - but for sheer loveliness, it would have to be these two Braunschweig SchirmmĂĽtzen that came within months of each other (IR92 and HR17). I'd been looking for a legit IR92 for some time, and this one is marked to a Braunschweig maker, which many of them aren't!

Very nice. Congratiolation. The Rang is General der Infanterie. Only one possible, Herzog Carl Eduard von Sachsen Coburg Gotha.

Are you also taking the finds from November? I usually post the uniforms when they are complete. But who knows if I find these pants. Bavarian pants are extremely rare.
Here a Bavarian doctor and a Bavarian pioneer

I agree
Some years ago I had his helmet for the regiment
with the correct feathers to parade
I had bought it from Kube
later he wanted it back for a customer
so, I sold it back to him
I still have a pair of his shoulder straps I R 95 Gen d Inf Carl Edward.JPG

I'd be lying if I posted a picture of one of my Pickelhaubes saying it's the best of 2024 for me it may be my favorite item that I acquired last year but let's be honest an early as left the factory M36 SS Dagger is up there as the holy grail for dagger and SS collectors around the world.

Anyway, I picked this up a few months ago from the son of the Veteran who brought it home in his group of souvenirs/ war booty. I know we are all adults here, so I don't have to write a disclaimer about it. I'm not really an SS collector but I have handled hundreds of SS items over the years and it's extremely rare to find one in excellent untouched condition. That is why I'd have to say it's the best item I dug out of the woodwork this year a true basement find. Regards John Josef
