Thanks for the post Peter. I already knew the man, (not personally, just via my books) but never found out what happend to him after the war.
Quite tragical how he ended up unfortunately, but I guess this was the case for a lot of soldiers then.
WW1 was in fact hell on earth, for all the soldiers, be they German, French, British or Turkish, or Americans, which suffered too.
