The interior of the 1 L H R 1 headdress of the Crown Prince Wilhelm

Very interesting and unique. Not only is it named to him on the sweatband, the addition of the large, crowned Hohenzollern eagle shield makes this busby stand out as belonging to him. Thanks Steve, for posting this photo.

Best Wishes,

Alan

Some years ago I had my choice between this and a Kurassiere Regt 4 drum cover
Take my pick
$20,000 for either one
I bought the K R 4 drum cover

here is my display room some years ago
You can see the K R 4 Kettle drum cover on the right wall
I sold it to Christopher Ross
and I took the money and I bought one of the Kettle drum covers
of the Garde du Corp regiment
The K R 4 cover a few years was sold at and Andries Thies auction
i think the current owner is Jason B.

That was back in the days when I had prints made. I took 3 different photos
and put the 3 together to get that view.
I might give it a try. Here are a couple of more views of the K R 4 kettle drum cover.
Interesting story about it. I flew to Chicago to buy it. The collector had it customed framed.
I got to keep the frame. But now, how do I get it home? I already had my airline ticket purchased.
I got to airport. I got my drum cover in the frame to check in. This was way before 9 /11
I did not want to check it. It too way too big from carry on. The pilot agreed to keep it in his cabin.
I go ti back home O K, frame and all. This could never happen today .
