The Leather Chin Strap

Hello friends,

As all of you might know, I recently bought 2 Saxe helmets, an M15 and an M95.
The M95 has a chinstrap which is unusual, because it is made of double leather, instead of the usual 1 piece leather ones.
As requested by Brian, I will post some pictures of it here.

It looks original, and fits good, but I never saw one like it before.

Have a nice weekend,

Greetings, Coert. :)

To explain myself better, the strap is made of 2 thin pieces of leather, stitched together to make it thicker.

Greetings, Coert.

Great photos Coert, thanks for posting. Obviously, a very rare type of strap, like you, I have never seen one like it.

Hi Coert,

Congratulations on a very nice and rare chinstrap. =D>

Add me to your list of "first time seeing one like this".

Best Wishes,

Alan

Thanks for the replies Brian and Alan, I appreciate it! :)
I like this helmet a lot, the strap on it too. I took the strap off this evening, it looks, and smells like it is supposed to.
No markings on it though. I had a Bavarian M95 which did have a strap which was makers marked and dated, but I suppose most were not.

Greetings, Coert.
