Just to make a point of situation regarding this model 1847 (prior to the model 1895):

Existing models:
Bavaria: large central medallion (4,8cm) ; 160e
Hessen : crown stamped in the brass buckle
Mecklembourg Schwerin : 1200e
Mecklembourg Strelitz : large central medaillon; 1200e
Prussia : large central medaillon (4,9cm); 120e
Sachsen : medium central medaillon (in fact type 1895 medaillon); 200e
Würtemberg : large central medaillon (4,8cm) ; 250e

Nota 1: the prices are just an indication, nothing else
Nota 2: all the buckles are made of brass and all the central medaillon of white metal(except -not confirmed- the 100 Regt Sachsen)

Model 1847 buckles copied currently:

7 + 1 !

Allegedly, there were also 1847 buckles worn in Hanover. There was a specific medaillon for this German state (with horse?).

So, we count 8 different military types of the 1847 belt buckle.
