A German copper coint?

German button?

Button

Greetings stijn

Hello Stijn
The first photo of the 5 metal buttons could be trouser buttons from several nationalities
The second photo, I can not make out, but if it is a rampant lion, it could be Belgian
The third photo, I do not know
The fourth photo is German
and the last photo is British general service.
Best wishes
Gus

Hello Stijn
Are you living on this farm? I am a farmer in Idaho, in the western US.
Best wishes

Hello everyone,
I think the same as you Gus for the 1st item. They can also be Zeltbauh bottons too. I have seen the same for both. The 2nd photo also looks like a one piece cufflink with the material still in the middle. Either for a tunic or shirt. The 3rd could be just a copper washer that was used for something. The 4th and 5th. I agree with Gus. Simple tunic buttons for German and British.
Cheers,
Cliff :hello2:

That area saw alot of action in the war 1914-1915 The St Julien is the place that Germany launched it's first operational gas attacks . The monument to the Canadian's there "The brooding Soldier " was the only one of it's kind made for Canada . It is a very moving Monument .
I seem to remember that pond Farm actually being part of a Battle in Apri; 1915.

@ Mark & Stijn. Mark, Stijn is right. :D The Pondfarm ís a very hospitable place along the Western Front with a rich WW1 history. Stijn and his family received us with a warm welcome.
So, indeed I do recommend a visit to the Pondfarm.
Good luck, Mark and Stijn!

greetz,
Pierre

Well in addition to the historic importance of the Pondfarm, during the "Second Battle of Ypres" ( 22 april- 25 may 1915) , The Pondfarm, located along the road between St. Julien and 's Graventafel, and north east of the German Bremen Redoubt near Zonnebeke has been in the eye of the storm of the battlefield. Later in july-november 1917, Third Ypres or Passchendaele, what was left of the Pondfarm has been again in the centre of the battlefield. This time during this campaign in 1917 the Germans used for the first time also Mustard gas. On april 22, 1915, it was chlorine gas.
There are still relics of German 1916 bunkers along the road along of the Pondfarm between St. Julien and 's Graventafel.
Is anyone is interested in some helpful maps (Arthur Banks!) of the battle development, please let me know.
For now I close with a picture of German bunker along the street nearby the Pondfarm. And one of the Brooding Canadian.

Pierre

Thank you Pierre! :)

I talked with my neabour yesterday and he told me that he was in the hospital bunker at Pondfarm in wo2.

He stayed every day in that bunker and sleept on de dead bodys.
Explosives that hits the bunker, germans thats enter de bunker and shoots on people,...

He was fourtheen years old!

He told me that there now on this moment more than hundred bodys of people laying in the ground!

Greetings Stijn!

I am still looking up any unit attack or battle info for Pond farm . sorry nothing exact enough yet .
Nice pic of the "Brooding Soldier" monument for the Canadians at Second Ypres .This particular monument was so moving to soldiers that it was not repeated on the Westren Front.
