Colonel Ron has sent us a group of pictures now that he is back from New Mexico.
This first one is from Mecklenburg what makes me happy is that similar to my Mecklenburg reserve infantry officer helmet. It has a 25 mm landwehr Cross. They are supposed to be bigger, but mine is the same way. Now let's talk about what the proper color of the landwehr Cross is supposed to be? The crummy picture is of my helmet cross.

We have been talking about bandeaux and landwehr crosses. Look at this stunning example.

And now an enlisted example.

Look at the size of that crosses and compare it to Colonel Ron's and mine.

I have always been fond of the Hanover units with their Waterloo bandeaus. I alos collect British Victorian campiagn medals with the Waterloo medal being a prized catch. These helmets represent the historical overlap of the two interests.

Yes "madness" is the correct word! It drives me crazy, you've got a very impressive and nice collection Col Ron, I really like it, it's a pleasure for me to see all your helmets! Thanks to share these pictures with us :D
