GERMAN MILITARIA - PRUSSIA : Prussian Officer's Early Garde Du Corps Helmet.
Lobster" style helmet shows light wear/age with NO significant damage to exterior fittings and interior lining. Helmet comes with beautifully lightly patinated silver parade eagle with separate crown and is complete with scalloped chin scales and cockades. Interior shows only one set of holes for the original matched fittings. Front face plate features Garde du Corps silver star burst with Prussian black eagle, latin SUUM CUIQUE and enameled laurel leaves of superior quality. Interior shows undamaged liner with NO rips or tears. Engraved to the front is the previous wearer's name ADOLPH FREIHERR v. LAUER MUNCHHOFEN OBERST 1813/56. The engraving indicates that this helmet was returned to the Regiment and placed on display in the Officer's Mess (Casino) in accordance with the regulations at the time. Helmet of the highest German quality and in superb Condition, of great rarity






 
I have seen this helmet at an SOS. His price was moderately lower but everyone who I saw look at it put it back.

Well except for Gus. He tried to stuff it in the front of his pants. But they were not used to stretching so far, and he was easily spotted.
