Thiepval.
Today I would like to invite you to visit my recently made re-edits of my Thiepval Pages. After a satisfying number of page views, resp. 2.406 and 3.666, I restored and extended thoroughly the photo impressions about “Thiepval Memorial - Mouquet Farm” and it’s follow-up page, “Ulster Tower – Thiepval Wood”.
I extended the “Thiepval Memorial - Mouquet Farm”-impression with satellite photos, details of trench map copies, and some remarkable German period pictures, made by a Leutnant of the “defenders” of Thiepval, of the 26. Württembergische Reserve Division, and some own 2010 photos.
The next page, “Ulster Tower – Thiepval Wood”, however has had an even huger face-lift, and changed more drastically with new series of 2010 photos. On this page I emphasize more the viewpoint of the “attackers” of the Hansa Stellung, the 36th Ulster Division. I added again satellite photos, trench map details, but also a new series of my photos of Mill Road Cemetery, landscape panoramas, an illustrated frame with background info about what I, rather immodestly, call, “The Battle of the Schwaben Redoubt”, and a new series of my photos of the nearby Ancre British Cemetery.
If you are curious, you may click on “Thiepval Memorial - Mouquet Farm”, and further below this webpage on the link for the next page, part 2 about Thiepval; “Ulster Tower – Thiepval Wood”.
Preview of our Trip of 2010.

Recently I also uploaded a “Preview of our Trip of 2010”. This special impression is meant as a preview of sample pictures of updates of already existing photo pages, or as a sample of completely new photo impressions, which will appear in Pierre´s coming season. For these updates and new photo pages I will use photos, made between 25 May and 8 June 2010.
Fromelles- Pheasant Wood.

One of my most visited pages is the photo page about Aubers Ridge – Fromelles. In two years this photo impression received to my amazement 19.283 visitors. To my visitors and to my reputation I felt obliged, out of my own free will, to visit the sites of the Pheasant Wood Mass Graves and the Fromelles Pheasant Wood Cemetery, which is still under construction. You will find this new Pheasant Wood extension at the end of the photo page about "Aubers Ridge – Fromelles- Pheasant Wood". So, if you are already familiar with this impression, you have to scroll down for a while.
I hope you will appreciate these Photo Impressions.
