Hi Guys

Thought you might enjoy seeing this CDV image of a kneeling Infantryman aiming his 88 Commission Rifle with 1871 pattern bayonet affixed. Take a good look at his chinstrap mounting system, its the 1887 pattern with the vertical brass hooks instead of the 1871 style screwposts. However the helmet still retains the brass visor trim instead of the molded leather edging of the 1887 pattern helmet. Use'm till they wear out boys!

Hi Robert

Glad you liked him and thanks for the response. I was glad to get him even though he is a bit out of my collecting time period. Really liked the pose, and the helmet detail was a bonus.

The detail is really outstanding. He is using his own equipment also. At least that's the way it looks to me. Really love the detail in CDVs. I am ramping up to drop a few dollars on a post card from Minnesota. Maybe I will actually get this one :idea1: :idea1:
