This is the only item of the Tsingtao garrison in a Japanese museum that I know of.
The photo is from WikiMedia Commons http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:%E7%8B%AC%E9%80%B8%E5%B8%9D%E5%9B%BD%E5%B0%86%E6%A0%A1%E8%BB%8D%E5%B8%BD.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It is a battered Tschako of the III. Seebatallion in the Genko Historical Museum. I was in Japan last year but the museum was closed the day I was in Fukuoka (I'm making a habit of this aren't I? #-o I won't mention my trip to Dresden either...). But I did manage to visit the Yūshūkan museum in Tokyo when it was open! They had no German exhibits from Tsingtao there although it was a very interesting museum.
Does anyone know of any other German Imperial era exhibits in Japanese museums?
Cheers
Chris
