Tschapka Concerns

I know nothing about Tschapka's but this one doesn't seem right:

The liner, even though marked, looks to be out of a Pickelhaube and does not appear correct for a Tschapka.
The national cockade is twin ring but the Prussian cockade is the older single ring type.
The Wappen is enlisted instead of officer.

Could this thing somehow be correct??? Fahnrich???

It looks like an issued Tschapka body "upgraded" incorrectly with officer Kokarden and an enlisted man's Pickelhaube front plate, among other things.

Thank you for showing this John. For me this is an essentially correct, quite nice Tschapka:
- The liner is of the correct type for a Tschapka
- The eagle looks legit too. The hooks have not been re-soldered and fit the grommetted holes, which is the important thing. The extra holes do not seem to have been used
- The Prussian cockade has nothing to do on a Tschapka, and the officer type Reich cockade looks wrong on this model, but this is easily fixed
All in all, and with the caveat that the quality of pictures is rather low, it looks to me like a genuine example. Possibly an extra-Helm/non-commissionned officer helmet

It is a very good chance that he did.

These helmets have been for sale for a few months.

He never drops the price.

I PMed him about a month ago and said that he had the chin scales on the wrong helmets.

The rounded should be on the uhlan and the flat on pickelhaube .

His new post reflecs the correct change.

But I did not notice the cocardes .

I was in his shop last month and I held the helmet in my hands. It is indeed a fantastic example and I believe Bruno got a great helmet! I was going to purchase it but alas...
I did point out he had the incorrect chinscales on it and he told me he just hadn't had the time to switch them. Very happy that it went to a very good home! The owner whose name escapes me at the moment was very nice! Congrats Bruno!
