Is this one good?

The shell seems flat and not curved around the skull and the Feldzeichen looks to be in the wrong spot.
Still, hard to tell, is it a good one?

A very nice original. The hole for the Feldzeichen is in the proper spot, but someone has jammed the Feldzeichen into a corner ventilation hole. No problem. Yes the back is unusually flat for a Tschapka, but the helmet is constructed in the unique and correct way. It's not a converted Pickelhaube.

The only rare thing was that feldseichen beeing jammed in the wrong place

You are correct. Sorry. I was only looking at the Tschapka to make sure it was correct. You are absolutely right, that is a fuzzy bunny Feldzeichen and not original.

Stated on the file card shown in the listing....feldzeichen is a repro. A nice example, I just hope the top has not been damaged by shoving that feldz into the wrong hole...probably yes.

Good eye! I never noticed that.
Is it true that M15 Tschapka's could be worn with a Feldzeichen OR a State Kokarde, but not both?
It seems that I had heard that somewhere.

I may be over-thinking this, but the liner looks newer than the helmet. The rough side shows no discoloration and looks like new leather.
I'm still interested, and I always over research things before I buy, so I'm looking for last minute opinions.
I will likely be outbid anyway.

No, I didn't win it.
Initially I was going to bid higher but then I considered:
what a good Feldzeichen would cost
possible damage to the mortarboard by having the fake Feldzeichen jammed in the corner
and, I questioned the liner.
It was undoubtedly a good one, but I only put a max of $950.00 on it.
