I have to thank ukturkcollector (Chris) for his help with this one. Dave Powers, the ultimate helmet collector, decided to thin out a few items and offered this Turkish Kalpak to me. I'm very pleased to add it to my collection.

According to Chris it is likely government official, in the civil police, or government administration. He forgot to say a wonderful addition to my collection.

Hey Peter: Congrats, this is one NICE find! What period/year is this? (I'm assuming early 20th to WW1?)

Hi Chris: The shoulder boards seem to read 'Qods' (Jerusalem), no?
