I'd wish you good luck, but I know you have always make your own luck and I am sure you will continue to do so. I surely envy your retiring. Heck, you are younger than me and I can't see it any time in my future. Your pension must not have been tied to the stock market! I also know that you will fill the spare time with pleasant endeavors. You are one driven man.

Thank you all very much for the kind remarks, but this posting was really about this amazing IR92 Pickelhaube! My leaving the Regular Force gave me an excuse (with my wife's approval no less) to get a significant helmet.

I did say I was retiring for an entire weekend to start a new job as reserve officer.... 8) Not exactly 'goin fishin' here............

Still have six weeks left in the Regular Army. Medicals, dentals, councillors, etc etc. Ugh..
 
Does this mean T that you still have one "short arm " inspection left in your career?? This a WW2 term taught to me by my father. Hopefully you know what I am refering to.... Ha! Ha! Brian

I can only hope. My Army doctor is about 29, and she is from Newfoundland, and as is typical from women from The Rock (you have first hand experience), she is drop-dead-gorgeous with an accent that would melt the knees off a bronze statue. So yea, I am not exactly dreading my release medicals........
