Nice piece for a decent price!

Is it wartine and how come it has an officer Reichs cockade? :-k

Seems like a genuine WWI KM Tellermutze cockade to me.
Same construction is to be seen on TR sailors cap's, with the addition of the eagle with swas.
I'll hope to be able to tell you more when in hand.

And here some reference pictures regarding the cockade on different caps.
Other types do exist, but I am just stiking to the same construction as can be seen on mine.
Pictures and items are not mine!!

Very nice piece Kris; congrats!!
Maybe this belonged to an NCO hence the officer cockade?

Here's something related to imperial navy for sale by a trustworthy Canadian dealer at a fair price IMO and with an EM/OR cockade this time; should you be interested: http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Imperial/Photos/G004568.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks Ronny!
I know the Canadian dealer , good references have always been given to me about thise person.
I have no particular collection theme, but everything related to Antwerp or Flanders is a welcome artifact.
cheers

My wife got into old-style lace making for our daughters wedding – for goodness sakes that stuff is more complex than a nuclear reactor! :)

My mother in law is in it too! She is in "Lier lace" different from the lace of Brugges or any other!
