A screenshot from TV: The Überzüge/helmet covers show "XIII and 5".

This is a photo of German soldiers on guard at the "Doodendraad"-"The Fence of Death" on the Belgian/Dutch border. This was an electric fence to prevent the crossing of the border to and from the neutral Netherlands.
As this fence was not located exactly on the borders; it often ran simply through a village. Lots of people got killed trying to cross-either by the electric fence or by bullets from the guards.

Lots of information on this covers !

This makes a lot of sense Francis! These guys are w. Ldst.-I.-Btl. Horb (XIII. 5). It makes sense that they would be guarding the fence.

from Busche:
Mobil ab 1.10.1914. Wurde II. /Ldst.I.R.Nr. 39. Nach Auflösung des Regiments wurde das Bataillon zu Etappenzwecken verwendet.
Mit Ers.-Kp. in Oberndorf dem Ldst.-I.-Btl.
(XIII. 6) angegliedert. (G.Res.Korps, Etappen-Inspektion Nr. 4, 4. Armee, Heeresgruppe Kronprinz Rupprecht, 6. Armee, 4. Armee).
