Uhlan uniform chevrons

Quick question guys ... From my understanding, a chevron on the right sleeve of an Uhlan tunic indicates proficiency with a lance. Then someone PMs me to say that the chevron indicates that the tunic is from an Enlisted Man. What do you guys know on this issue?

Tell that person who sent you the PM to do some research before offering an opinion on which they know nothing. A frustrating problem in all forums. It is a Fechterabzeichen (lance proficiency indicator chevron). They were added on as skill improved, so a mounted soldier could have one or many.
