At the end of the year I would like to show you my new acquisition. When I emptied my pockets, I found this identification tag. Probably homemade. I can't find anything about the carrier.

Rudolf von Ibell, born 16 November 1888 in Wiesbaden. Entered service as a one year volunteer in Feldartillerie-Regiment Nr. 27 on 1 October 1912.

1 Sep 13: Transferred to Ulanen-Regiment Nr. 6 as a Fahnenjunker.
27 Jan 14: Fähnrich.
19 Jun 14: Leutnant with seniority from 23 Jun 12.
7 Aug 14: Deployed on active service in 4./UR 6.
27 Oct 14: Seriously injured in a riding accident.
10 Jan 15: Assigned to the replacement squadron of UR 6.
13 Mar 15: Returned to regiment in the field (Eastern front).
18 Jun to 7 Oct 15: At own request employed as a company leader in IR 78 (3./78).
8 to 24 Oct 15: Company leader 11./IR 81.
25 Oct 15: Assigned to 4./UR 6.
16 Apr 17: Attached to remount commission in Rumania.
1 Jul to 6 Aug 17: Machine gun course at Döberitz.
6 Nov 17: Oberleutnant.
26 Nov to 22 Dec 17: Machine gun armourers‘ course in Spandau.
12 Feb 18: Squadron leader 1./UR 6.
8 Jun 18: Regimental adjutant.
27 Sep 19: Assigned to Reichswehr Kavallerie-Regiment 18 (later Reiter-Regiment 16).
16 May 20: Retired with pension.
13 Dec 20: Brevet (Charakter) as a Rittmeister with permission to wear the uniform of UR 6.

Thereafter bank official in Wiesbaden

Holder of the Iron Cross 1st class.

He died in 1969. He was also a Doctor of jurisprudence and archivist. He was listed in the 1938 Wiesbaden address book as Rittmeister a.D. Dr. von Ibell. His father, Carl von Ibell was a former Oberbürgermeister of Wiesbaden from 1883 to 1913.
