I picked this up years ago as part of a buy from an auction. It is a light blue with silver tress hussar uniform, but not in any of my reference books. Anyone know in what country and year(s) this would have been used?
Definitely Napoleonic era or before, as the jacket is very short. It could be Prussian Saxony or Bavarian or some more, there were a lot of Hussar-Regiments who wore this light blue color. Maybe this link will help to find some comparative specimens:
My first thought was Austro-Hungarian or French too. Definitely old, it is extremely well made and very thick and heavy. As for the random cords, I thought they might have been added on at a later date, but not sure. I could definitely see a theatre company adding them.. Here are some more pictures. I have no idea about the liner, it seems okay, but could be a replacement.
