Unique Marked Bavarian Felt Ersatz helmets

I first posted the one on the left a few years ago when I got, very unique markings on the inside dome support, had never seen another one. Well found another one, and would not have bought it except for the markings and the extremely large size, actually the first one I have that fits my big head. So Has anyone else ever seen these markings, and is it exclusive to this style of Bavarian helmet?

MARKED SAME ON BOTH except for one Letter????

1st one "1914 CARL GOLDSCHMIDT H LUCKENWALDE"

2nd one "1914 CARL GOLDSCHMIDT B LUCKENWALDE"

so what do the H or B mean??

Other interesting thing, I feel both of these are untouched, and they show both types of the Bavarian Kokarden...

thanks

James

Wow James, those are really nice, and untouched!!! Congratulations!!! =D>

I love ersatz, and have always kicked myself for selling one of these Bavarian examples that I bought in a motel buy back in the late 1980's in Des Moines, IA. I do not recall my example having the maker marking on the support disk inside as both yours do. Your two are very hard to find like that with the maker mark on the inner support disk. Again, congratulations, and thanks for posting them! :bravo:

Best Regards,

Alan

I have a similar helmet from Bavaria that is marked on the support disk but it is a different manufacturer
It says KROMMELBEIN & CO G.M.B.H. LUCKENWALDE LIEFERUNG 1915

I guess it's more common to find those markings on Bavarian ones
Nonetheless I have 3 different types of ersatz helmets of Bavaria but only one is marked on the inner disc

Nice helmets! I don't know what the B or H might be for, but to end your suffering, I'd gladly take either off your hands.
