Unusual Hessian spike

Hello.
What do you think about this spike?? Is it original?? Why the middle of spike is yellow??

Thanks for any help from Latvia.







 
The spike is totally correct for Hessen. As to why the neck is yellow (brass) perhaps the nickel plating wore off ?? Is this a dug spike from the ground??

Yes. It is dug and cleaned (a little polished). But the nickel plating traces wasn't there 100% !!!!
 
I have no answer for the brass neck...no explanation. Very nice spike though. Did you find the wappen for it as well?

Unfortunately the spike was find without pickelhaube and wappen. :(
