The helmet seems to be in perfect condition! A rare combination indeed since the lion was attributed to the regiment in 1907 and the helmet appears to be a 1867 e.m model (unless it is a later Unteroffizier model: is there a reinforcement groove on the back of the shell? How is the liner? Is it marked to the unit?).
But we all know that these metal helmets had a very long life in service.
