I used the translator from dictionary dot com and found it to be an almost exact match for what he'd written. I don't know where the M.I.T. idea comes from, but it's an interesting description, especially translated into English.
Pickelhaube a'Jus. Yum! I'm sure it makes sense in French. :)

Now this is what I call great salesmanship! The guy didn't even bother remove that MIT thing from the translation!
Even the French is poor by the way... What he means by "dans son jus" ("in its very correct juice" :lol: ) is more like "salty" or "been there/absolutely authentic", etc.
 
Yes indeed, Ron. The French is butchered.
"Dans son jus" (in its own juice) is a very common, vulgar expression meaning that an old thing has never been touched or modified (I know Spikey Mickey hates it; so do I). It is a cliche you find in many French ads for antiques.
At least the guy is a good sport: he answered my comment nicely (or maybe he did not get the irony...)
 
I might point out that if any of you are fluent in French, then you can laugh at this seller, My language skills are limited to very few languages, and I often use a translator for quich study of texts that I can not understand. Translating into your own tounge is difficult, and one often corrects the text to be correct, but in doing so, it often changes the meaning. This seller does not have any English and has no way to check the translation. One might say that he should not make an attempt to do so, but I think he gets credit for trying. I thik we should spend less time mocking people who have difficulty with English, as most of us have difficulty with a multitude of languages. (and I have plenty of difficulty with English as well)
