Wow!!!! What a sweet grouping. I especially love that filz helme, it looks brand new. To my eye, the Hessen LG regt had one of the best wappen configurations. Congrats, Brian
Thank you all for your appreciation. Brian I have added two pictures of the felt helmet. It is faintly stamped to the regiment. There is also a paper tag; the helmet is apparently named to a Vizfeldwebel (hard to decipher!).
It is clearly marked Vizefeldwebel, the name looks like Diener to me, this is one of those interesting cases where two scripts show up on the same document.

Thanks Bruno, excellent pics! One detail....I have often seen this black braided draw string on filz helmet liners but never on a leather helmet. Comments? Brian
Brian I am not able to tell you if these strings are specific of felt helmets, but I cannot remember seeing one on a leather helmet. All I can say is that knowing the origin of this JR115 helmet, the string is most likely to be original. Bruno
Definately original Bruno, I totally agree. All of the fliz helmes that I have seen with this including some in my collection are originals. I just thought that this was a unique detail that we find on this type of helmet. Brian
